Where the questions come from

Inspection questions come from the published shared form attached to the selected control item. The form can include plain text, option fields, multi-select fields, product pickers, and file upload fields.

  • Fields are processed in their defined order.
  • Answer state is based on stable field keys, not just labels.
  • Visible required fields must be answered before submission.
  • Visible blocking fields stop progress until they are answered.
  • Hidden fields should not be submitted.

Conditional questions

  1. 1
    Answer the current visible field

Start with the first visible question and choose the value that reflects the inspection.

  2. 2
    Watch for follow-up questions

If a rule makes another field relevant, the portal can show it after your earlier answer.

  3. 3
    Review changed answers

Changing an earlier answer can hide later questions and clear answers that no longer apply.

  4. 4
    Use the current option list

Some option fields change their available choices based on earlier answers.

  5. 5
Submit only when visible requirements are complete

Backend validation also checks required, blocking, visibility, and option rules.

Product fields are curated

When a form asks for products, users choose from products selected by the form creator. The field is not a free search across the whole product catalog.

Common reasons a form cannot be submitted

  • A required visible field has no answer.
  • A blocking field has not been answered.
  • An answer was left on a field that became hidden.
  • A selected option is no longer valid after another answer changed.
  • A product field is missing the required product selection.
